TRAUMA RECOVERY
We have expertise supporting people who want to process a traumatic event, or who are looking for a safe therapeutic relationship to make meaning out of cumulative traumatic experiences. Our practice acknowledges that trauma can be both interpersonal and systemic, and that we are all navigating ongoing systems of power and privilege, including late stage Capitalism and others.
RELATIONSHIP ISSUES
We support people who are having issues in their relationships and may be feeling stuck, confused, like they don’t know what is healthy, or like they just want to relate better to their partner(s) or peers.
BODY IMAGE
We approach our work from a fat liberation, Health At Every Size perspective, which means that we won’t be the therapists to encourage dieting. When working with clients, we welcome all feelings that you may have about your body, including parts of you that may wish you looked different, and we honor that living in a body has its own challenges.
SEXUALITY & GENDER IDENTITY
We specialize in supporting queer and trans folks, people who are questioning these identities, and people of various genders who want sex-positive therapy.
POLYAMORY & ENM/CNM
We are affirming and knowledgeable of non-monogamous configurations and the complexities, hardships, and joys of these relationships.
FAMILY OF ORIGIN ISSUES
We have expertise in sorting through complicated family dynamics, including family members with addiction issues, personality disorders, emotional immaturity, and political and religious judgments. In general, we help you try to make sense of yourself as an adult by exploring how your family and caregivers have impacted your present beliefs, choices, and relational patterns.
SYSTEMS OF PRIVILEGE & OPPRESSION
As therapists who are focused on anti-oppression as a core value, we regularly guide clients to consider themselves in context. In sessions, we consider places where you have power and places where you may be marginalized in the greater world we inhabit.
